Join us on March 6th from 1-3pm for our trip to the Florida Aquarium!

Since 1995 this 250,000 sq-ft aquarium tells Florida’s unique water story as it follows a drop of water from it’s underground source to the open sea and it’s home to more than 20,000 aquatic plants and animals both native to Florida and from all over the globe.

Join The Go! League for an afternoon of aquatic fun where we will check out the sitng rays, view the sharks, and hi-five flipper!

Price is $15.95 per person for 15 or more attendees.

Go! Glow-In-The-Dark MINI GOLF

And now for something completely different! Join us on February 27th, 2010 from 2-3pm for a great event which features 18 holes of indoor glow-in-the-dark Monster themed mini putt-putt…a fun event for ALL ages! They have special effects, great music, Glow Air Hockey, arcade games, and prizes.

And as The Go! (dare I say: Glow!) League is always looking for free or very affordable options for our members – if you join the facility’s Facebook Fan page – you will save $2 on admission! That makes it only $5.95!

Go! Clearwater Seafood & Blues Festival ’10

Join The Go! League on February 20, 2010 from 3:30pm as we attend the SATURDAY part of this FREE admission event in Downtown Clearwater at Coachman Park. Since 2007, this event has drawn thousands of people for its combination of the delicious wares of local seafood vendors & restaurants, and fantastic blues performances.

We’ll have an official meet up between 3:30 and 4:00PM at the booth for Frenchy’s Restaurant. Look for The Go! League team in our official T-shirts. Make sure to come by and say hello!

NOTE: Parking for this event is limited and on a first come/first served basis. So come early, or park far away! Please refer to the official website: www.clearwaterseablues.com and click the VENUE tab for detailed info on parking with maps and park policies.

(FYI – just a quick summary of what is NOT allowed: coolers, food, drinks, pets, beach umbrellas, tents, sunshades, or canopies. What IS allowed? – 1 sealed water bottle each, blankets, chairs, small umbrellas, and your appetite for seafood and blues!)

Go! For a Walk…..and Art Walk That Is!

On Saturday, February 13 2010 from 6-9pm join The Go! League as we take on the local art! Meet the gallery owners, some of the artists, and make some new friends along the way! Many galleries will be serving beverages, beer, wine and hors de’oeuvres.

We’ll be meeting at 6:00 PM at Push Ultra Lounge/Red Mesa Cantina at their second floor outside bar (you know the place…where the rooftop movies are!) for some quick pre-walk hydration, then heading out on foot – promptly at 6:30 PM – to various galleries around the Central Ave area.

Wear some comfy shoes, and plan on having a great time – this has been on of The Go! Leaguers favorite events!

But WAIT, there’s more! Our walk will finish up at one of the galleries that is having a very special event! Coinciding with the “Down Town St. Pete Art Walk” is ARTpool’s “Muse II Art & Body Art pARTy”. If you buy your tickets in advance to this optional part of our walk – they are $10 ($15 at the door). Like Thai Food? Then Join the Go! League for a Sunday Brunch Like No Other!

Join The Go! League as we experience one of Tampa’s lesser known but more enjoyable cultural experineces. Truly a hidden gem! Authentic Thai food…prepared and served on the grounds of an real, working Thai Buddhist Temple along the banks of the Palm River. Gentle music, the monks peaceful sermons and meditations waft from inside the temple, while we dine at the picnic tables along the river. Many different food choices are available, most between $3-$5 per entree. CASH ONLY! They have a small market as well, with plants, produce, and wares for sale at a nominal price. All proceeds, and the worker’s time is donated to the temple. Be there early – it’s first come, first served – and can fill up and sell out fairly early! See you there!

Ever Bowled in the Dark? Ever Want to Be Completely Glow-in-the-Dark?

You asked for it…HERE IT IS!!! Finally, the event you’ve been waiting for.

Experience the thrill of regular bowling…BUT when the lights go down, and they cue the black lights, strobe lights and the DJ…be ready for some High-Energy Cosmic Bowling! This event is good for anyone from novice to pro.

At Pin Chasers Midtown (4847 N. Armenia Avenue), they offer a full rental center, a delicious menu, cocktails, and ice cold beer. Pricing ($15/person) includes ball and shoe rental.

Go! Ride a Bike Announced!

Ok…we’re near the end of January…who’s keeping their fitness goals?

On Saturday, January 30th (from 11am-2pm) The Go! League is going to the Pinellas trail for a free family-friendly bike ride. We will start at the Clearwater end of the trail, and work our way north, stopping for an optional bite to eat on the way back.

If you are interested, please RSVP as soon as possible. We will meet at the Bank of America Parking lot (the drive through parking lot) on the corner of Northeast Avenue and Laura St.

The last few bike outings have had great turn out, and have been lots of fun. We look forward to riding with you! (Except for that person that brought the bike in the picture on the last ride – we’re not pulling you again!)

The Go! League Vertical Ventures…November 7th…

“You can’t get blood from a stone” Let’s hope not!

The Go! League takes on indoor rock climbing in Tampa. We’ll be meeting at 2pm near the entrance.

This family friendly event boasts being Florida’s first and Tampa’s premier indoor rock climbing gym, providing a training environment for climbers of all skill levels; and offering an exciting new alternative to a conventional workout.

Although most Go! League events are free – this one has a price range between $14 ($7 kids) and $35. Check out the pricing menu, some packages include classes, equipment, and a free re-visit!

One thing you gotta do is go to www.verticalventures.com and print out a WAIVER. Per the Vertical Ventures website: “Seriously, we cannot stress this enough, in order to climb, you need a signed waiver. Save yourself some trouble and download and fill it out now. You’ll be glad you did.”
